Congrats!!đâ€đ„° Maurice Benardâs Daughter, Cassidy, Is Engaged!

Wedding bells are ringing for Maurice Benard (Sonny, General Hospital) and his family! The actor shared the wonderful news that his daughter, Cassidy, is engaged to marry her long-time boyfriend, Anthony Cammarata!
Sharing a photo of the smiling couple, the actor revealed on Instagram that Cammarata popped the question while the young couple was traveling abroad. âMy baby girl, Cassidy, is getting married to a great man,â the proud father-of-the-bride announced. âThey went to Japan, and he surprised her in [Tokyo] Disneyland. It truly is a fairytale.â
The engagement coincided with Cassidyâs 26th birthday, which fell on April 18. Ahead of their vacation, Cammarata penned a lovely tribute to his lady love on Instagram, sharing a gallery of favorite photos of Cassidy â including some from Japan. âHappy birthday to my favorite person!â he wrote.
âCassidy, you are not only the most amazing person, but no one makes me laugh harder than you do. You have such a caring heart, and I love that about you.
Youâre selfless, and the way you care for animals, especially our dogs, is beautiful to watch. Iâm so happy we get to celebrate you in Japan! I love you so much. Next up: Star Wars Celebration, then Tokyo Disneyland.â
Cammarataâs message to Cassidy was met with the stamp of approval from his future father-in-law. âBeautifully said, my son,â praised Benard.
In addition to Cassidy, Benard and his wife, Paula, are parents to daughters Cailey and Heather, and son Joshua. Of course, GH fans know Joshua Benard from his time on the soap as Adam, a former classmate of Josslynâs at Port Charles University.
The Benardsâ elder two daughters are both already married. With her dad officiating the ceremony, Cailey exchanged vows with Carlos Avila in June 2020; the couple have since welcomed daughter Tiana (nicknamed TT) and son Milo.
Meanwhile, Heather â Paulaâs half-sister, whom Benard and his wife legally adopted when she was 15 after Paula and Heatherâs mother unexpectedly passed away â is a member of the United States Air Force and shares daughter Eloise Rose with her husband, Phil Andresen.
Congratulations to Cassidy and Anthony! We wish them a lifetime of happiness together as they embark on this new chapter!
