Something’s way off with Mariah, and Young and the Restless fans can feel it. After returning from a work trip, Mariah’s been acting strange.
She’s distant, anxious, and very much not herself. The kicker? She confessed that she’s hiding something…and it’s much worse than a one-night stand. So, what exactly happened out there in the shadows of her business trip?
What Haunts Mariah?
We only have one chilling clue: a memory. Mariah (Camryn Grimes) remembers sitting at a bar, drinking away her stress, when an older man approached her, claiming she looked like she needed a friend.
Sounds innocent enough, right? Not in the soap universe. That vague recollection has ignited a firestorm of wild speculation, because in soap land, “just a drink” is never just a drink.
Could that man have been Ian Ward in disguise? Let’s not forget, this maniac manipulated Mariah’s entire life. What if he had reconstructive surgery, a new identity, and tracked her down to torment her all over again?
Maybe Mariah didn’t recognize him at first – until it was too late. What if, in a haze of panic and alcohol, she snapped? Did she kill him?
Did Mariah Kill Someone?!
Or maybe it’s worse. What if she didn’t kill anyone, but helped him? Could Ian have conned her into doing something illegal?
Something she doesn’t even fully remember? We’re talking stolen IDs, bank fraud, or even transporting something (or someone) she shouldn’t have. Mariah may be the latest pawn in one of Ian’s twisted games—and she doesn’t even know it yet.
Even worse still is what if she only thought he was Ian in her drunken state and did away with the poor bloke who was only trying to be nice.

There’s also a possibility that Mariah’s “friend” was someone else entirely. A stranger with a secret of his own. What if she accidentally stumbled upon a crime? Witnessed something dangerous? Or was forced to keep quiet to protect herself—and her family?
One thing’s certain: whatever happened that night is big, dark, and about to explode. And if it really is worse than cheating…Genoa City better brace itself. Whatever Mariah did, it’s coming back with a vengeance.
